With their new album, "Musica Para La Inmensa Minoria," La Brigida Orquesta once again demonstrates the versatility and creativity of the Latin American hip-hop scene. The band transcends musical boundaries and develops its own, distinctive identity. Released as a vinyl LP on Ajabu!
From the very beginning, "Musica Para La Inmensa Minoria" captivates with its unbridled joy of playing and its flair for complex, multi-layered arrangements. La Brigida Orquesta combines elements from hip-hop, Latin, soul, funk, and jazz, but influences from folk, singer/songwriter, and even classical music also find their way into the tracks. It"s a constant journey of discovery through the worlds of Black music, repeatedly characterized by unexpected twists and breaks that keep the listening experience fresh and vibrant. Created during the band"s pandemic-related stay in Barcelona, the album reflects a special creative energy. The influences of isolation and unplanned downtime seem to have inspired the band to take an even deeper and more reflective approach to their music. The lyrics explore themes of longing, hope, and freedom, making the album profound not only musically but also thematically.
